Physical Education, Health Teacher, Athletic Director Email Phone: 262-367-3606 x118 Hello! My name is Jason Blawat, and I am a Physical and Health Education teacher and Athletic Director here at Lake Country School. The 2024-2025 school year is my 21st year at LCS.
I graduated from UW Whitewater in 2003 with a BSE in K-12 Physical and Health Education. I completed my graduate work in 2008 through National Louis University and hold a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
My educational philosophy is one of an emphasis of the "process" as well as the "product." I focus primarily on the things that my students can control - their attitude, effort, and behavior. Of course I give grades, but encourage my students and parents to pay less attention to the grade itself and more to what the grade represents. I believe in a focus on "Character Education" with an emphasis on the 5 Core Values - Work Ethic, Respect, Honesty, Open mindedness to diversity, and Communication. A good educator isn't always smarter than their students, but a good educator can also help their students continue to learn. I push my students to be reflective and to be leaders. To set goals and work to achieve them and to take responsibility for their actions. To not make excuses, but make adjustments. To be the very best versions of themselves that they can be.
I live in New Berlin with my wonderful wife Rhiannon and our three children. Our twin boys Ayden and Troy are 19 years old and have recently graduated from New Berlin West Middle/High School. Troy is currently a Sophomore at Winona State University and Ayden is enjoying his second year as an Electrician. My daughter Mallory is 16 years old and is currently an 11th grader at New Berlin West. She loves dancing, working, and hanging out with her friends. When I'm not at Lake Country I do a lot of coaching in the New Berlin area. Some of the organizations that I have coached for include the New Berlin Heat Baseball organization, the New Berlin West Youth Basketball program, and the New Berlin West Youth Football Club, where I also served as President for 5 years. I am currently in my fourth year as a Varsity Coach for New Berlin West High School Football. I am also very active in our church, serving as a church elder, usher, and Sunday School teacher.
