CESA #1 WSPEI Family Engagement Coordinator: Amy Elfner (262-787-9500)
We take great pride in the special education program at Lake Country School. Our relationship with our
students and partnership with parents is of utmost importance. To strengthen that, I would like to notify you
of a resource that will be available to all of our parents, effective immediately: A Family Engagement Liaison. This is a
state-wide initiative that is designed to provide resources and information to parents as well as strengthen the
communication between school and families. The Lake Country School District received grant from the
Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to assist with the funding of this initiative. The title of the grant
and initiative is Wisconsin Statewide Parent-Educator Initiative (WSPEI).
We hope that you are pleased with the special education services you child receives and communication you have with his/her teachers. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Dear Lake Country Families and Educators,
I am honored to introduce myself as the District Parent Liaison for the Lake Country School District. As the parent liaison, my role is to assist you in working through the special education process. I have attended training and orientation through CESA #1 and the Wisconsin Statewide Parent-Educator Initiative (WSPEI) and have accede to many resources both in print and online.
I know there are many challenges to educating our children. I hope that I can offer you my support and help you find information. The Parent Liaison’s role is to help families and educators create a partnership to make this process collaborative so we can all work together to meet the needs of your child.
