November 1, 2023
Dear Parent or Guardian,
This letter is the first of many communications Arrowhead High School will send you regarding your son or daughter’s transition to high school next year. Let me be the first to welcome your family to Arrowhead! To ensure a smooth transition and to provide the time needed for making informed decisions about courses at Arrowhead, we need to begin the process early. This letter has information on two important topics: Online enrollment to AHS and Parent Informed Choice for some classes in 9th grade.
ARROWHEAD HIGH SCHOOL HAS A NEW STUDENT ONLINE ENROLLMENT PROCESS:
The new student online enrollment application for the 2024-25 school year will be available Nov. 4 - Dec. 1, 2023, specifically for enrolling students who will be freshmen during the 2024-25 school year.
Parents/guardians of students interested in attending Arrowhead through Open Enrollment should also complete the New Student Online Enrollment Process first. Please see our Open Enrollment web page for additional instructions to complete Open Enrollment later. The Open Enrollment form is available in February (not yet updated for 24-25).
ALL STUDENTS WISHING TO ATTEND AHS MUST COMPLETE THIS ENROLLMENT PROCESS.
If you need help completing the application contact Michelle Hill 262.369.3611 ext. 4114 for assistance. Additionally here is a helpful guide to online enrollment and the link to the AHS Website.
PARENT INFORMED CHOICE INFORMATION FOR 8th GRADE FAMILIES:
Arrowhead High School supports “Parent and Student Informed Choice” for choosing coursework in Science, English, and Social Studies for 9th grade. This means students can choose the level of rigor that is right for them. Please read this booklet for more detailed information about courses for freshmen in these subject areas. More information will be shared at the Incoming Freshmen Orientation scheduled for January 17, 2024 where all course and program options and requirements are explained in detail.
For students considering Honors or Advanced Placement courses as a freshman in these subjects, students must take the Pre ACT 8/9. The Pre ACT 8/9 is not a placement test, but participation in the assessments is required for selecting honors coursework at Arrowhead. Counselors and teachers use the results of the assessments in working with students to determine if advanced coursework in these subjects is right for them. Students will be taking the Pre ACT 8/9 in their middle school. More information will be shared directly from your feeder school regarding dates and times of the assessment.
If you attend a school from outside the district, a private school, or are homeschooled, you need to complete THIS FORM by November 22 to register for the Pre ACT 8/9. Feeder school students who miss the Pre ACT 8/9 date in their feeder school could use this date for make-up. For these students, the in-person/paper-pencil assessment will be conducted at Arrowhead South Campus on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
